BACKGROUND
Studio Pietrangeli’s history dates back to 1922 when Francesco Pietrangeli started his career in hydraulic engineering.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Giorgio Pietrangeli continued the engineering tradition and in 1964 established the firm which eventually became known as it is today, Studio Pietrangeli, to provide specialized consulting engineering services for large hydro projects and civil works.

Studio Pietrangeli’s permanent staff totals approximately 75 professionals, comprising civil, hydraulic, structural, electric and electromechanical engineers, geologists, hydrologists, experts in soil and rock mechanics, environmental experts and other technical personnel and support staff.

The firm has branches in Ethiopia, Ecuador, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Kenya.

Studio Pietrangeli is registered with the major international lending agencies, including the World Bank, African Development Bank and Commission of the European Communities.

Studio Pietrangeli is registered by IQNet and SQS Quality assurance as a firm of Assessed Capability in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 (registration No. CH-21345-01).

The firm is also a supporting member of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD.
